A personal injury can be a physical injury, disease or illness, or a psychological injury or illness. A personal injury could result in death! Hong Kong Professional Mediation Association (HKPMA) has a group of members of mediators who are either professional medical practitioners or experienced mediators on personal injuries of court cases for injuries at work and injuries caused in a traffic accident from District Court and High Court of Hong Kong.
Cases of personal injuries are often accompanied with emotional or psychological problem of “victims”. HKPMA’s mediators are especially good at handling emotional problems of “victims” right from pre-mediation to actual mediation sessions. The needs of “Support & Counseling” are always taken care of for the victims in personal injuries. At the same time, a fair interest to the defendant, insurance companies and the society shall also be taken care of. There is a very high success rate on personal injuries handled by mediators of HKPMA.
Common Examples of Personal Injuries are:
- injuries at work, including, work-related illnesses;
- psychological illness caused by stress at work;
- injuries caused in a traffic accident;
- injuries caused by errors in hospital treatment or by vaccinations;
- physical or psychological injuries sustained by a victim in a crime;
- psychological illness caused by discrimination or harassment in work-places;
- injuries received as a result of faulty goods or services, etc…
